SCALLOP BOW

Learn how to crochet a vibrant colored bow with a scalloped edge and add it to a headband or hat!
I could not wait to share this quick pattern where you can create and accessorize with this bow in less than 30 minutes.
TO GET STARTED GRAB:
- Stitch markers, tapestry needle, and scissors.
- Medium weighted yarn in a color of your choice.
- Crochet hook sized 4.0 mm F/6
CROCHET KEY (U.S. terms):
- ST/STS – STICH/SITCHES
- CH – CHAIN
- SC – SINGLE CROCHET
- DCTOG – DOUBLE CROCHET TOGETHER
- SL ST – SLIP STITCH
- RND – ROUND
- ROW – ROW
Special Stitches:
Double Crochet Together (DCTOG)-
A decrease technique in crochet. First yarn over and insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops (leaving 2 loops on the hook). Yarn over and insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, leave 4 loops on the hook. Yarn over again and pull through the first 2 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through all three remaining loops on the hook to complete.
SCALLOP BOW PATTERN:

ROW 1: CH 12, 1 SC in the 2nd CH from the hook, 1 SC in the next 10 STS. (11)
ROW 2: CH 2, turn, *2 DCTOG in the next ST, 1 SC in the next ST*, Repeat * to * 2 more times, 2 DCTOG in the next ST, 1 SC in the last ST of the row 2.
ROW 3: CH 1, 1 SC in the next 10 STS. (11)
ROW 4: CH 2, Turn, * 1 SC in the next 2 STS, 2 DCTOG in the next ST*, Repeat * to * 2 more times, 1 SC in the next 2 STS.
ROW 5: CH 1, Turn, 1 SC in the next 11 STS.
ROW 6: -21: Repeat rows 2-5 four more times and finish off.
ROW 22: Repeat row 2.
ROW 23: CH 1, Turn, 1 SC in the next 11 STS.
SCALLOP EDGE ROW: CH 1, Turn, CH 3, SL ST into the base of the CH 3, *SL ST in the next ST, (SL ST, CH 3, SL ST) in the next ST*, Repeat * to * around the edge of the bow, SL ST in the base of the first CH, Finish off and weave in the ends.
BOW CENTER: Leave 1 2 inch tail, wrap the yarn around the bow center 20 time, leave a 2 inch tail and use the yarn tails to tie the bow to to a headband or hat.
NOTE:
Crochet less than 21 rows for a smaller bow size.
*(Keep the final chain count an even number, then 1 extra chain for the turning chain.)
